Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Bartian in Kansas

A Bartlesville man was arrested in Kansas following a traffic stop over the weekend.

According to the Caney Police Department, 39-year-old William Purcell’s vehicle was displaying illegal tags and he was allegedly found to be driving on a suspended driver’s license. Purcell was arrested for driving while suspended.

As a result of that arrest, Purcell’s vehicle was searched. The Caney Police Department said drug paraphernalia, marijuana and methamphetamines were found in the vehicle.

Purcell was transported to the Montgomery County Jail where he faces charges of operating a vehicle without registration, driving while suspended, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and possession of methamphetamines.

Caney Police Chief Kevin Kitterman said all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
