Garber Recognized for Eight Year of Service with BDA
Martin Garber was recognized by the Bartlesville Development Authority on Wednesday morning for his eight years of service. Garber thanked the group for working with him for the passed eight years.
BDA President David Wood would give his remarks on Garber’s eight years of service. Wood said Garber's service to the BDA began before he was actually a trustee.
Wood explained that Garber helped the BDA during Wood's first month with the BDA as they planned for the upcoming sales tax election several years ago. He said Garber was able to guide them successfully through the sales tax election.
Wood said Garber was also very helpful in establishing the Silver Lake Village project in Bartlesville. The Bartlesville Development Authority presented a plaque to Garber for his service during their virtual meeting.
The BDA would later elect Gale Lester as a trustee to replace Garber. The former General Manager of ABB, Lester had been very busy with the move of the West Virginia facility into Bartlesville. Wood said Lester has been a friend to Bartlesville and the BDA with everything that has gone on with ABB in the community. He said ABB has been one of Bartlesville's flagships in terms of projects and relationships they have had with the major employer.
Lester's nomination is subject to ratification by the Bartlesville City Council.
