Sheriff's Office Receives Donation of Six Ballistic Vests
Garrett Giles
A letter to the Washington County Board of Commissioners from Washington County Sheriff Scott Owen was approved on Monday.
The letter regarded the donation of six ballistic vests from the United States Deputy Sheriff's Association. Sheriff Owen said the vests were a welcomed surprise at the Washington County Sheriff's Office. He said 911 Coordinator Eric Ashlock spoke with a contact at the U.S. Deputy Sheriff's Office about the donation and made it happen.
The six ballistic vests come at no cost to the Washington County Sheriff's Office or Washington County. It is estimated that the vests saved the County $3,600 to $4,200.
