Rigdon Field Dedication Postponed
All athletes and coaches across the area are still dealing with the fallout of spring athletics getting canceled across the state. The OSSAA officially made that decision this past Thursday morning.
There were many things caught in the crossfire of the choice, and the Rigdon Field dedication at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium was unfortunately one of them. Bartlesville superintendent Chuck McCauley says that the dedication will happen, it is just a matter of when.
The dedication was originally scheduled to be on March 31. Doing it this summer with the summer team, the Doenges Ford Indians would perhaps be a possibility. Rigdon was a long-time Indian as well as a Bruin.
Rigdon Field recently got the finishing touches of the new turf installed. Logos for the Bruins, Oklahoma Wesleyan and the Indians are now present on the field in powder and navy blue. There is also logo denoting the new name for the turf.
