Caleb Logan McCabe was in court Friday afternoon and is being charged with aggravated assault and shooting with intent to kill.  

Officers were contacted by dispatch at 4:50 Thursday morning and were advised of a possible gunshot victim at the 6000 block of SE Baylor. Upon arrival, a male in his mid-twenties was being transported to Tulsa with life-threatening gunshot wounds. A dark-colored SUV had the back window shot out and around the vehicle were casings from at least three different types of firearms, including an AK-47.   

A person who lived a couple houses to the east of the incident showed officers surveillance video of what appeared to be the SUV and a 2018 Dodge Challenger stop in the street and subjects from both vehicles opened fire at each other. The home owner said a grey Dodge Challenger is usually always parked at 6101 SE Baylor and he was positive that was the same car.

Felicia Garcia was found to be the owner of the Dodge Challenger and it wasn’t in the driveway. Matt Stanton, the homeowner, Xavier Johnson, Montell Miller and Garcia were all taken to the police station for questioning.

Stanton said he had McCabe watch his house when he was gone because he had several loaded guns, including ARs, AK 47s and SKS. Stanton said he had access to these weapons for protection against the victim.

The 2018 Dodge Challenger was found Thursday afternoon abandoned on I-44 going westbound near Bristow. Video footage shows McCabe walking into the Bristow Walmart with two backpacks and walking around for more than three hours. When officers contacted McCabe he didn’t have either backpack. Walmart employees found them later. One of the backpacks had an AK-47 inside.

McCabe was interviewed in Bartlesville later that day and admitted to being at 6101 Baylor that morning. McCabe said he and Garcia got into a fight, but denied taking the Dodge Challenger. McCabe also denied shooting anyone and said some friends picked him up and took him to Tulsa. He then admitted to waking up, seeing he was wanted and having friends take him to Bristow to visit a female.

McCabe’s bond is set at $250,000 pending there is no contact with the victim and he is due back in court on April 1 at 1:15 in the afternoon.
