The 2nd annual Civitan Club Servant's Heart Award will be given away in April. Civitan International has its headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama and they started the award program last year. Bartlesville Civitan Club President Toni Harjo says they are currently asking people to nominate caregivers that make a difference in the community.

Last year 5 to 6 caregivers were nominated and recognized for their service in the community. She said this is a great opportunity to recognize those who normally receive no recognition for their services. On the applications you submit, the Civitan Club asks that you give a detailed report on what the nominee does, who they serve, how long they have served and more.

The Servant's Heart Award is a celebration of the unsung heroes who support families and individuals who are affected by intellectual and development disabilities. Potential nominees include teachers, paraprofessionals, vocational teachers or a group of these individuals.

The Bartlesville Civitan Club will recognize the nominees and hand out the award on April 18th at the Bartlesville Senior Center. Applications need to be submitted to Harjo by April 8. She said anyone that was nominated last year can be nominated again this year.

Harjo says you can email the nominee form to her at toniharjo65@gmail.com. You can also mail the form to P.O. Box 1294, Bartlesville, OK, 74005. Click here to download the PDF of the letter from Harjo that has the nomination formed attached.
