Oklahoma's Senator James Lankford Friday said that he hopes judge nominations will be completed soon. Lankford, who recently published the fourth volume of his annual Federal Government waste book, Federal Fumbles, said the book covers this issue extensively alongside the rules of the Senate.

They have spent the entire week working on four nominations. That is all they have been able to put on the Senate Floor due to the lack of time. Lankford said the minority party has the right to ask for more time but that has occured over and over again. That has slowed down President Donald Trump from hiring staff, Lankford said.

He said there have been some days where they have been in debates with no one on the Senate Floor to really debate the nominees. Those have led to the minority party to simply ask for more time on the floor. Lankford said that has caused them to lose or waste full days of debate.

He said in light of that, he has proposed a change to the Senate to change the rules. That has passed in a Senate Rules Committee. He said that will come to the Senate Floor in the next few weeks so they can get this done and get back to work.
