Progress has been made since the Oklahoma Department of Transportation approved lighting fixtures to go up in District 2 of Washington County. Commissioner Mike Bouvier submitted the request to ODOT to install LED lighting at 2300, 2400 and 2900 Roads along Highway 75.

He hopes to put in concrete bases for the light poles this week. Rural Electric Cooperative will drill the holes for the concrete bases. The Public Service Company of Oklahoma will work on the lighting around the J-turn on 2900 road, Bouvier said. The lights are going there because of the increase in car accidents there.

Commissioner Bouvier said this project will help light up poorly lit intersections along Highway 75. Bouvier later noted that he hopes to install a light pole near Windle's Rock & Jewelry Shop. He said he was thankful to hear fom Bartlesville City Manager Mike Bailey on how the City would help take care of the electric situation for the light poles.
