A former city government official has passed away. Mike Hall served the City of Bartlesville as its Water Utilities Director for 20 years and moved after his retirement to be closer to his grandchildren. Hall passed on Feb. 21 and The City of Bartlesville held a memorial for Hall on Wednesday afternoon. City Manager Mike Bailey reflected on Hall’s passing on Monday. He said it was hard for the City when he retired but it's even harder now that he's gone.

Wednesday’s memorial for Mr. Hall was held at Adams Golf Course from noon and it lasted until 3:00.

According to the City, Hall was born March 8, 1951 in Joplin, Mo. He attended Riverton High School and graduated in 1969. He served in the U.S. Navy and earned a degree in environmental science from Missouri Southern College.

He married Jo Ellen Turner in 1973 and worked for several years as the Public Works director in Baxter Springs, Kan. He moved to Bartlesville in 1994 to begin his career with the City, serving as Water Utilities director until his retirement in 2014. Following his retirement from the City, he acted as a consultant for water plant projects in the four-state area.

Hall is survived by his wife Jo Ellen, his mother, two sisters, one brother, three children, and eight grandchildren. Outspoken and affable, Hall was beloved by the community and fellow co-workers alike.

Funeral services for Mr. Hall were held in Galena, Kansas Tuesday morning.
