The three structures between the Washington County Administration and Judicial buildings in Bartlesville have been demolished. Washington County Commissioner Mike Bouvier says its a good thing the building came down. As Bouvier said, the building was like a "tinder box" and it would've been devoured instantly if it caught on fire.

The property is owned by the Washington County Building Commission. Washington County Commissioner Mike Dunlap says the commission gave final approval late last week to demo the structures. He says Saturday was perfect for the plan to take place because most people were staying warm and safe at home. Clean-up is now under way. Dunlap hopes the site will be cleared by early April. It costs $50 to haul off a ton of the ruble and Dunlap hopes that won't exceed $20,000.

A parking lot design was drawn up by Dan Keleher Architects that would give 35 county employees a place to park. Dunlap says work for that probably won't take place on that until this summer. However, they may have to have 5 to 10 parking spots off site. The overall project will save the county money because they won't have to pay for parking spaces they are paying moeny for currently.
