A call about a single car accident on highway 60 led to the arrest of a Bartlesville man. Jesse Kerr was arrested and charged with driving under the influence as well as driving with a suspended license for an incident that occurred over the weekend. Kerr stood before a judge at the Washington County courthouse on Monday.

According to an affidavit, Kerr called in to a report an accident that he saw outside of Nowata on highway 60. Kerr claimed the vehicle nearly struck him before crashing into a fence. The officer noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from Kerr. He then went on to state “I’m not going to lie I’m public intoxicated.”

The officer then placed Kerr under arrest. Kerr then informed the officer that he had lied to him and admitted that he was actually the driver of the wrecked vehicle. Kerr said he called in the accident to make it look like someone else had been driving.

Kerr will appear in court next on November 15 in regards to a previous DUI. His bond was set at $10,000.
