Indians Split Doubleheader In Branson
The Doenges Ford Indians traveled to Branson, Missouri for their first tournament of the season Thursday. The Indians lost the first game of the day to Kickapoo 4-3, but rallied in game two of the day to beat the Blazers 5-1.
In the first game, left-hander Zach Snow started on the mound and went the distance. However, Snow allowed four runs in his outing and was dealt with the loss. Dustin Weiesenbach continued his hot start at the plate with two hits and Braden Beasley added two RBI's in the loss.
The Indians needed a late rally to break a sixth inning tie in the second game of the day. An error by the Blazers third baseman gave the Indians the lead and two-RBI single from Corey Murphy extended the lead to 5-1. Grant Yardley dazzled on the mound pitching 5 1/3 innings and giving up just one run to earn the win.
