Getting Ready for Indian Taco Championships
Preparations are under way for the Award-winning 12th annual National Indian Taco Championship on October 1st. The popular event features freshly cooked Indian tacos, interesting vendors and traders, competitions, music, American Indian dancing and a variety of entertainment.
New vendors and competitions most likely will mean huge crowds on October 1st from 10 until 4. According to event chairman, Patricia Counts of the Pawhuska Chamber of Commerce the event set for downtown Pawhuska.
Counts says they are still accepting sponsors, contestants and non-food vendors. There is a 50-dollar charge to apply and electricity is an additional 15 dollars. Non-food vendors will be accepted -- $30 without electricity and $50 with electricity. To apply contact the Chamber at 918-287-1208.
Sponsors include Pawhuska Chamber of Commerce, Enbridge, Osage Casino, Grand Lake Casino, Osage County Tourism, Quapaw Tribe of Oklahoma, Osage Nation, and Tribal TV.
