The Nowata County Commissioners approved an annual memorandum of understanding with the Cherokee Nation Monday morning.  The agreement is a yearly renewal with the Cherokee Nation for road improvement projects.  Commissioner Curtis Barnes had high praise for the Cherokee Nation.

In other action, the commissioners approved the Department of Corrections contract.  The sheriff's office recommended to the commissioners to approve the annual contract.

Because next Monday is Labor Day, the next Nowata County Commissioners meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 6th at 9 A.M. at the Annex Meeting Room, across the street from the courthouse.
