A stadium packed with family and friends welcomed the latest graduates of Dewey High School Friday night. The commencement ceremony began with the traditional Pomp and Circumstance as performed by the Bulldogger Band followed by prayer, pledge, and the playing of the Star Spangled Banner.

Trinity McCracken served as the class Salutatorian and was followed by Senior Class President Autumn Dillon, Vice-President Erin Herchock, and Class Secretary Autumn Williams who presented a witty class history.

Dewey Class of 2016 Valedictorians Chelsey Stull and Destiny Parrett each stated in their Valedictory Addresses that graduation is just the beginning, but Stull highlighted Dewey High School will always hold a special place.

High School Principal Brent Dugger affirmed that the 88 students sitting before him had met the requirements for graduation and began the awarding of diplomas.

Of the 88 graduating seniors, 43 plan to attend university this coming fall, 17 plan to attended a technical college, 4 has decided to serve in the United States Military, and as a whole the class has earned more than $150,000 in scholarships.
