As of 2:30 PM Kane Elementary and Central Middle School are on "Shelter In-Place" due to an ongoing police investigation.
Jamie Ryan, Community Relations Director at Bartlesville Public Schools, says both schools were placed on lockdown for about half an hour during an investigation into a parent of a student.
The lockdown was lifted and downgraded to a less serious "Shelter In-Place", where students stay in their classrooms with the door locked.
Ryan says the schools will remain on Shelter In-Place until the parent has been found.
