Blue Angels at Bartlesville Airport
Charlie Taraboletti
You rarely see military jet aircraft land at Bartlesville Municipal Airport but members of the navy's demonstration team The Blue Angels were on the ground Monday morning. According to airport officials, the planes landed about 8:25 and stayed there while the pilots drove to southeast Kansas.
The pilots were apparently scheduled to speak in Sedan and Bartlesville was the closest airport that could accomodate the planes. One of the Blue Angels, Andy Talbott, is a Sedan High School graduate. Airport employees refueld the airplanes and readied them for take off when the crews returned.
The Blue Angels are headquartered at Pensicola Naval Air Station in Florida.
