Red Flag Warnings Bring Fires To Area

Much of Oklahoma is under a Red Flag Warning Wednesday due to the probability of High Winds. With high winds come the danger of grass fires and downed power lines. Everyone is encouraged to immediately call 911 in the event of an observed grass fire or down power line, do not attempt to move a downed line and do not drive through smoke. Do not throw cigarettes out of your moving vehicles and do not openly burn.

We are getting multiple reports of grass fires and downed power lines throughout the listening area, and we will keep you updated as we receive more information.

 

 

A Large Grass Fire located along the Washington / Nowata County line, began at the  Bartlesville Industrial District, at Bison and HWY 60, now stretches from HWY 60 to Durham Road in Dewey.

Channel 6, Osage SkyNews 6 over an Osage County Fire approximately 9 miles West of Bartlesville near Osage Hills State Park.

 

PSO and Verdigris Valley Power continue to update power outages throughout NE Oklahoma as of 4pm there are approximately 5,400 customers  without power due to the fires and wind taking down Power Lines.

 

As of 5:30pm Verdigris Valley Reported approximately 350 customers without power, and PSO reported 2,300 customers without power.
