Bartlesville Man Arrested For Attacking A Woman

A $250,000 bond has been set for a Bartlesville man who allegedly attacked a woman with a razor blade.  35-year old James Steven Blackburn who is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and aggravated assault and battery.  Washington County Sheriff Deputies were called to the Ranch Motel in Dewey to investigate an assault.

According to a court affidavit, the woman and the suspect were arguing over how Blackburn was handling a small kitten.  Reportedly, Blackburn grabbed the victim, slammed her head, grabbed her left arm and began cutting her left wrist with a razor.  The affidavit stated that the suspect punched the woman numerous times and broke her jaw.  Blackburn wouldn't cooperate with the authorities.

Court records indicate that Blackburn has a criminal history including child abuse by injury and a few drug convictions in Washington County.
