OKU Track and Field Wraps Up State Meet

Oklahoma Union High School track and field wrapped up their season Saturday at the 2A state track and field meet in Oklahoma City.
 
The Cougars qualified 20 athletes for the state meet this season out of 27 athletes that appeared at regionals in Cashion the weekend prior.
 
After a solid first day on Friday, the Cougars rounded things out Saturday.
 
On the girls' side first, Raiden Kuehn finished eighth in the 800-meter dash. Kuehn also finished 13th in the 1600-meter run. The 4x400-meter relay of Cenzie Smith, Sawyer Jackson, Kinley Langworthy and Kuehn finished 15th.

On the boy's side, the 4x400 relay of Koen Lowery, Jensen Anderson, Travis Williams and Colten Wickham finished eighth.
 
In the field, Wickham finished fourth in long jump. Haden Johnson won the state championship in discus, Cooper Herrenbruck finished 14th. Jackson talks about Johnson's growth throughout the season.
 
As a team, the Lady Cougars finished 15th in the standings. The Cougars placed 11th as a team.
