Oklahoma Wesleyan basketball cruised to the round of 16 on Saturday night with a dominant win over Montana Tech.
The Eagles beat the Orediggers in a defensive battle, 67-46.
OKWU struggled to make shots in a defensive first half. It took the Eagles almost eight minutes of game time to score 10 points. Montana Tech held a brief 11-10 lead midway through the first half, before a 19-2 OKWU run put them up double digits and close out the first half.
The Eagles took a 29-13 lead into halftime.
Similar to Friday's win, OKWU kicked into a new gear in the second half. The 16-point halftime lead grew as large as 31 points midway through the second half. The Eagles opened up the second half on a 24-8 run to stretch the lead into the thirties.
Izuagbe finished with 11 points. OKWU was led by Humberto Kentish, Jr. with 13 points.
The win sends Oklahoma Wesleyan back to the round of 16 in Kansas City at historic Municipal Auditorium. The Eagles will take on the Langston Lions on Friday, March 20.
