Wesleyan Chrisitan School boys’ basketball picked up maybe its biggest win of the season on Tuesday night, as the Mustangs have grabbed some momentum heading into the Class B1 postseason.

WCS knocked off the No. 6 ranked team in Class A.

It was a huge 64-58 win in overtime over Riverfield in Bartlesville.

This is the same Riverfield team that entered the game at 20-0. It was their first loss of the season.

Riverfield beat WCS by 18-points back in November. Head coach Steven Cooks says his team has come a long way in three months.

Believe it or not, we will have playoff basketball for smaller schools across the area next weekend. WCS is the No. 1 seed in a District at Prue in Class B-I.

Cooks says the win over Riverfield has hopefully given his guys some juice at a good time.

Both WCS teams are back at home for only two more games until the postseason starts on Thursday, Feb. 12.

The Mustangs will host Mingo Valley on Friday night.
