OKWU Hoops Hosts Bethany in Rematch

Oklahoma Wesleyan basketball is back in action on Saturday afternoon to wrap up a three-game homestand with Bethany College.
 
Both Eagle clubs are coming off a split on Wednesday night against Avila University.
 
On the women's side, the Lady Eagles are currently 1-1 on the homestand. They fell to Avila on Wednesday, 80-56, after beating Tabor on Monday, 59-56.
 
In what will be a three game week for the Lady Eagles, head coach Heidi Messer talked about energy management during a busier week.
 
The Lady Eagles fell to Bethany on the road back on Jan. 3, 64-53.
 
On the men's side, the Eagles have won nine straight for the second time this season. OKWU is 19-2 overall and 14-1 in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference. They beat Avila on Wednesday night, 76-71.
 
Wednesday's win is the latest addition to a string of narrow conference wins for OKWU that has kept them in first place in the conference standings. Head coach Donnie Bostwick talked about the source of his team's ability to win the close ones.
 
OKWU won a thriller on the road against Bethany on Jan. 3, 83-81.
 
The Lady Eagles will get the afternoon started at 1 p.m. with the men to follow around 3 p.m. Both games can be heard on KWON - AM 1400, FM 93.3 and 95.1.
