University of Oklahoma Sooner football is getting its first home playoff game on Friday night in Norman, as OU will host Alabama to kick off this year’s College Football Playoff.

The Sooners have had multiple appearances in the old College Football Playoff, but this is their first in the expanded format that includes games on campus sites.

With more teams getting into the playoff, the importance of bowl games has really taken a back seat in the college football world.

Head coach Brent Venables talks about that landscape. 

A 7:00 kick on Friday night in Norman, we will have the Sooners and Crimson Tide for you on 100.1 – KYFM on Friday night. Pregame will begin about 4:00 in the afternoon.

OU is now a 1.5-point favorite.
