Dewey Hoops Wraps Up Adair Tournament

Dewey basketball wrapped up the Adair Tournament on Saturday.
On the guys side, the Bulldoggers finished 2-1 with a third place finish. Dewey beat Gravette, Ark. before falling to Kellyville in the semifinals. Kellyville entered the contest as the No. 6 team in 3A. The Bulldoggers beat Adair's junior varsity in the third place game, 65-37.
The 2-1 run through Adair puts the Bulldoggers at an overall record of 6-1.
On the girls side, the Lady Bulldoggers also found themselves on the right side of the winners bracket. Dewey beat Gravette in the opening round, before falling to two ranked teams in the final two rounds. Dewey fell to Locust Grove in the semifinals, the No. 3 team in 4A, followed by No. 20 in 3A Westville in the third place game in overtime to finish fourth.
The Lady Bulldoggers head into the week with an overall record of 3-4.
Dewey hoops return on Tuesday evening for a home battle with Pawhuska. Last time around, the Dewey girls lost to the Lady Huskies, with the Dewey guys outlasting Pawhuska.
Tuesday's action begins at 6 p.m. Both games can be heard on Sports Talk, 99.1 FM - KPGM and KPGMTV.com.
