Nowata Wins Thriller Over OKU

Nowata won a thriller over Oklahoma Union on Friday night in overtime, 65-61.
Oklahoma Union controlled the pace early in a defensive first half. The Cougars led the Ironmen at halftime, 21-18.
The Ironmen exploded for 25 points in the third quarter to take a four point lead into the fourth, 43-39. This three-pointer by Talon Thompson gave Nowata the lead in the third.
Nowata stretched the lead as large as eight points in the final minutes before OKU staged a dramatic comeback to extend the game. The Ironmen missed just enough free throws to keep the Cougars in the game.
Nowata outscored OKU in overtime, 6-2, to win the game.
The win sends Nowata to the fifth place game of the Ty Hewitt Memorial Tournament on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. Oklahoma Union will play for seventh place at 11:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
