Oklahoma Wesleyan basketball opens up conference play on Saturday afternoon, with both the men's and women's teams in action in Hillsboro, Kan. against Tabor.

On the women's side, the Lady Eagles enter the contest with a 2-1 record. They are coming off a 2-0 stint in a tournament down in Forth Worth, Tex. with wins over LSU Alexandria and Texas A&M - Texarkana.

As far as the matchup goes, the Lady Eagles were swept last year by Tabor. They fell on the road back on Jan. 25 in Hillsboro, 71-41. With a team that hasn't played a home game yet and now diving into conference play, head coach Heidi Messer says there's no time to rest in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Tabor enters the contest at 2-3 overall, Saturday will also be their conference opener. They finished 16-6 in KCAC play a season ago.

On the men's side, the Eagles enter the contest at 3-1 overall. They went 2-0 in their first two home games of the season last week with wins over MidAmerica Nazarene and Texas Wesleyan. Last year they swept Tabor, with an 88-71 win in Hillsboro on Jan. 25.

Head coach Donnie Bostwick talked about a different Tabor team compared to last season.

The Bluejays enter at 2-3 overall. They lost on the road to Langston University on Tuesday, 86-54.

The Lady Eagles will get the afternoon started at 2 p.m. with the men to follow around 4 p.m. Both games can be heard on Sports Talk, 99.1 FM - KPGM.
