Former OKWU Star Gearing Up for Season in Buffalo

A former Oklahoma Wesleyan basketball player is gearing up for his first season at the Division I level.
Derrick Talton, Jr. spent four seasons with OKWU's men's basketball team before making his way to the University of Buffalo for this upcoming season.
The Bulls played a scrimmage against Syracuse on Saturday night at home and fell, 76-66. Talton, Jr. in his first outing with the Bulls went for five points with four assists and three steals.
At OKWU, Talton, Jr. averaged just over 14 points-per-game with the Eagles. He was an NAIA First Team All-American last season and led OKWU to their first appearance in the national championship game since 2009. Talton, Jr. went 120-19 in his career at OKWU.
Buffalo opens their season on Nov. 3 at home for Southern Mississippi.
