News has shifted on Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer and his availability on Saturday afternoon during the big OU-Texas Red River contest. Mateer missed last week after having surgery on his throwing thumb during the bye week.

According to OU radio broadcaster and News 9 Sports Director Toby Rowland, Mateer is 60% likely to start. The line shifted to a Sooner 1.5 favorite yesterday afternoon during the news.

OU practiced indoors the past couple of days. Head coach Brent Venables says that has nothing to do with trying to hide Mateers’ thumb from the media. 

The line opened at Texas -3.0.
