Bartlesville High softball picked up a key win in non-Distrct play on the road on Thursday night.

BHS finally got Owasso.

It was a 6-1 extra-innings win for the Bruins.

Kelsi Yales was tremendous in the circle, going the full eight innings. She gave up one run on four hits in the win. It was a double from Savannah Alden that broke the tie in an eventual five-run eighth for the Bruins. Bartlesville tied it with a single run in the seventh.

The win is big for more reasons than one. It is the first victory for Bartlesville over Owasso in three tries. The Rams were the team that topped BHS in extras in the first round of 6A State last fall. It also snaps a mini two-game losing skid.

The victory improves BHS to 14-9 on the year.

Bartlesville is off this weekend and is back at it at Bixby on Monday.
