Softball and Other Notes From Monday

High school softball on Monday night:
Bartlesville fell in a tough one at home.
First District loss for BHS, as Broken Arrow topped the Lady Bruins 5-0 in extra innings. The Tigers scored all five of their runs in the top of the eighth inning to win it. BHS had five hits in the contest, but three of them came in the seventh and eighth innings.
The loss drops Bartlesville to 3-1 in District play. The Lady Bruins are right back at it in District play on Tuesday at home against Sand Springs. A scheduled 7:00 first pitch.

Other softball games on Monday:
Dewey beat Commerce, 9-4. Chelsea over Nowata, 12-2. Blackwell topped Pawhuska, 12-7. And it was Oologah over Jay, 7-2.
Games Tuesday:
Dewey takes on Commerce again. Oklahoma Union is at Ketchum. Caney Valley hosts Nowata. Oologah is at home against Catoosa. And Pawhuska goes to Hominy.

In local volleyball on Monday night:
Dewey beat Wesleyan Christian School, 3-2. Lady Bulldoggers are hot to begin the year. Dewey has won 10 straight and is ranked at No. 8 in 3A in the state of Oklahoma.
Lady Bulldoggers are off on Tuesday.
