And a bit more than a month away from kickoff in the college ranks in Oklahoma.

OU head coach Brent Venables broke down the Sooner’s schedule during SEC media days last week. After struggling early in SEC play, the Oklahoma win over Alabama saved the Sooner’s bowl eligibility and perhaps Venable’s job.

OU beat Bama 24-3 in Norman. This fall the Sooner’s return the favor, going to Alabama for an SEC contest.

Venables says who wouldn’t look forward to that.

Last year’s win over the Crimson Tide gave OU its sixth victory to get the Sooners to a bowl game. OU would go on to lose to LSU by 20 then fall to Navy in the Armed Forces Bowl to round out the season at 6-7.

Sooner football will air on 100.1 KYFM this fall.
