Bartlesville High football is just around the corner, just like all the other high school clubs across Green Country.

The Bruins will be breaking in a mostly new staff this fall. After having somewhat uncommon stability in assistant coaches head coach Harry Wright had to make a handful of additions this past offseason.

Gary Joice was a later addition. Joice comes from Sand Springs. He is a Skiatook native and went to Southwestern for his college football. He has spent 17 years coaching high school football.

Another addition, Aaron Winfrey, who will be the quarterbacks coach. Winfrey was at St. Francis Illinois in the college ranks.

Wright talks about those additions.

Although the continuity has been key the past several seasons, Wright says there is a positive to getting some new blood in the program, as well.

This Friday night the Bruins will be under the lights at Custer Stadium for their annual Night of Champions. The football guys will attempt some lifts to show how far they have come in the weight room since last season.

More on that Night of Champions later this week.
