Indians Advance to Winget Semifinals

Bartlesville'a boys of summer are two wins away from a Glen Winget title, after punching their ticket to the semifinals on Saturday night.
 
The Indians beat Fort Smith in a back-and-forth game, 9-7.
 
Before the Indians broke the bats out, they trailed 2-0. In the bottom of the first, the Indians brought 10 batters to the plate, scoring five runs, and taking the lead. This single by Hunter Shea put the Indians in front.
 
Through the middle innings, Fort Smith gradually molded their comeback. The Sportsman put up two more runs in the third and three runs in the fourth to take a 7-5 lead. The Indians were held scoreless from the second inning onward until the sixth.
 
With two runners on base, Brett Eaves reached on an error, scoring two and tying the game.
 
One batter later, Brenden Asher singled to give the Tribe the lead back.
 
The Indians brought 10 more batters to the plate in the sixth and struck for four more runs.
 
Sam Marcella got the win on the mound. He pitched 2.1 innings and allowed one hit.
 
The win sends the Indians into the semifinals of the Glen Winget Tournament with a 3-0 record in pool play. The Tribe will take on Kickapoo on Sunday at 2 p.m. for a spot in the finals at 6 p.m. on Sunday night.
