$75 Million in Additional Road, Bridge Funding Coming to Rural Oklahoma Counties

Nathan Thompson
Washington County Commission Chair Mitch Antle is celebrating House Bill 2758, which provides up to $75 million in additional funding for county roads and bridges across the state.
Antle says Washington County may not see much of a difference in funding because the population and tax base in the county is higher than surrounding counties. Antle says it will certainly help the more rural counties in northeast Oklahoma, which will carry an indirect benefit back to Washington County.
Antle says the funding will allow counties to make much-needed improvements and repairs, eliminating deficient bridges and supporting regional development for years to come.
State Reps. John B. Kane and Judd Strom, and state Sen. Julie Daniels all voted in favor of the additional funding.
