A Bartlesville man is in jail on a public intoxication charge that occurred on Thursday evening.

Deputies responded to a call regarding a disturbance, as dispatch advised that the defendant, Kahlan Edens was having mental issues. There was also a concern Edens was going to harm his grandmother.

An affidavit states that upon arrival, deputies observed Edens sitting in the grass. He exhibited erratic behavior and had caused a disturbance by yelling at vehicles. Deputies observed Edens yelling at traffic and walking out in the street.

Officers also observed Edens shove his face in someone’s yard and sniff the dirt. It is alleged he sat in another yard and screamed about being in danger.

Edens has an extensive criminal history, including taking two felony plea deals in 2014 and 2016. Edens saw his bond set at $50,000 and he is due back in court on Wednesday, June 25th.
