A Bartlesville man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly kicking a dog and assaulting someone.

34-year-old Jeremy Barber was charged on Tuesday with cruelty to animals, a felony, and assault and battery, a misdemeanor.

According to the Bartlesville Police Department, on May 22 at approximately 3:30 a.m., Barber allegedly entered the backyard of a residence and threw a large and full metal water bottle at the victim's face.

According to the Bartlesville Police Department, the victim's dog started barking during the disturbance. Barber allegedly began kicking the dog. When the victim stepped in to stop Barber from kicking the dog, Barber allegedly punched the victim, knocking them down, and hit the victim two more times.

Barber has a previous felony conviction of larceny, burglary or theft of a controlled dangerous substance in 2023. The Washington County District Attorney's Office filed an application to terminate Barber's drug court proceedings as a result of the new charge.

Barber will appear in court again on June 13 at 9 a.m. His bond is set at $10,000.
