A Tulsa man drowned Saturday after jumping into the water near Bluestem Falls in Osage County, according to the Pawhuska Police Department.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol said 24-year-old Morpheis Xiavier Elijahwahn Timmons went under the surface and did not resurface for unknown reasons while jumping from rocks into the water.

Recovery efforts began Saturday and concluded around 9:30 a.m. Sunday. Police are asking the public to avoid the area out of respect for the victim’s family, who have been notified and were present at the scene.

In a statement posted to social media, the Pawhuska Police Department offered condolences, writing, “Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time as they are facing a tragic loss.”

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is leading the investigation and will release additional details as they become available.
