OKM Music Festival Returns May 30 – June 8 with Especially for Kids Programming and WorldClass Performances

The 41st Annual OKM Music Festival launches May 30 and continues through June 8, offering a dynamic celebration of music, culture, and community. This year’s festival pays tribute to the rich musical traditions of Norway and honors the legacy of esteemed composer Edvard Grieg, whose works such as the Piano Concerto in A Minor and Peer Gynt Suites will be featured throughout the festival.
The festival opens with the Especially for Kids Festival, a series of educational and entertaining events designed to ignite a lifelong love of the arts in young audiences. Running throughout the week, highlights include:
• Concerts and puppet shows blending music and storytelling
• Frozen-themed tea party with refreshments, games, and visits from favorite characters
• Jammin’ with Trolls family dance party featuring live music and treats
• The popular Boogie Bingo, combining music, movement, and prizes
• A special Native American Hoop Dance performance celebrating Choctaw culture These events will take place in both Bartlesville and Tulsa, with each activity carefully curated to blend fun and cultural enrichment.
The mainstage series begins Friday, June 6 with “Under the Stars at Woolaroc.” Gates open at 6:00 p.m. for an evening of music and festivities. Oklahoma’s own Grady Nichols takes the stage at 7:00 p.m., followed by a breathtaking performance at 8:30 p.m. from the Manhattan Chamber Players, who will perform works by Mozart and Grieg. On Saturday, June 7, the festival moves to Tulsa’s Cascia Hall Performing Arts Center for a Candlelight Series concert. At 6:00 p.m., the Tulsa Honors Baroque Orchestra will showcase young elite musicians from the region. At 7:30 p.m., internationally acclaimed pianist Natasha Paremski will perform a powerful program of Grieg, Chopin, Prokofiev, and Stravinsky. The festival concludes on Sunday, June 8, with a Grand Finale at the Refinery in the Johnstone-Sare Building in downtown Bartlesville. Opening the evening at 6:00 p.m. are students from Lesa Steele’s Piano Studio, followed by a 7:00 p.m. performance from the Escher String Quartet, returning to the OKM stage for their third consecutive year.
In addition to the marquee events, showcase performances will take place throughout the festival, including appearances by the Bartlesville Ringers and an Elvis tribute by Brent Gidden. With programming that spans classical to contemporary, youth to seasoned professionals, the OKM Music Festival offers something for every music lover.
