One of the schools with a new football skipper is Copan, as the Hornets went with assistant Trenton Kallenberger after the departure of Marshall Foreman for an assistant job in Pawhuska.

Copan has had some spring practices over the past couple of weeks, getting set for hopefully a third playoff run in a row.

Kallenburger says he is excited to take over for such an experienced group.

Foreman leaves with his son Kane, who will be in the mix for the starting quarterback spot at Pawhuska this fall. Despite that departure, there are still four seniors this fall for Copan who have been with Hornet football since the beginning.

Kallenberger says the senior group is a special one.

Copan hosted its first playoff game in 16 years this past fall, losing in the first round. The Hornets have also had back-to-back playoff appearances for the first time since 2008 and 2009.
