Looking Back on OKWU Basketball's Historic Run

With Oklahoma Wesleyan's historic run now in the books, we look back at the run the Eagles put together.
In a season that started with an injury filled squad, the pieces came together at the right time. OKWU was 9-6 in mid-January before winning 14 straight and a regular season conference championship.
Head coach Donnie Bostwick talked about what made this group special.
Even after a loss in the semifinals of the KCAC tournament on their home floor, the path for OKWU's future was still in front of them in the NAIA Tournament.
Starting in Sioux Center, Iowa, the Eagles took out the 2-seed in their quadrant, Dordt University. Once OKWU made it to Kansas City in the round of 16 for the second straight year, the Eagles took out Baker University, a 3-seed, and LSU Alexandria, a 1-seed.
OKWU then took out Freed-Hardeman University, the defending national champions, to play for it all back on Tuesday night. OKWU fell in the national championship game to the College of Idaho.
After being eliminated in the round of 16 in last year's tournament, Bostwick said his guys wanted to stay in Kansas City a little longer than just one game.
Oklahoma Wesleyan finished the season 28-8 and finished as the national runner-up for the first time in program history in just their second ever appearance in the national championship game.
