Four Dewey Bulldoggers Qualify for State Powerlifting Meet

Brian McSweeney
Four Dewey Bulldogger powerlifters have qualified for the small school state powerlifting meet in El Reno.
Xavier Bright, Kaiden Fowler, Ryder Stanbro and Methiase Walker will be the four Doggers representing Dewey at the state meet on Saturday.
Each lifter will represent a different weight class. Bright will compete in the 123 pound weight division, Stanbro will compete in the 132 pound weight division, Walker will compete in the 168 pound weight division and Fowler will compete in the 198 pound weight division.
Dewey will head into the state meet after lots of solid performances at regionals. A top-five finish at regionals automatically qualifies a powerlifter for state. Fowler finished second, Walker finished third, Stanbro finished fifth, Bright came in sixth but earned an at-large bid to the state meet.
The state powerlifting meet will start at 9 a.m. in El Reno at the Jenks Simmons Gym and Jenks Annex Gym on Saturday. Live results of the meet can be found at opcapowerlifting.com.
