The Pawhuska Lady Huskies were playing for a regional championship on Tuesday night against the Okemah Lady Panthers. They fell short, losing 55-44. Pawhuska's season will continue, but the Lady Huskies will have to take the scenic route through the Area tournament by winning three games in three days to get to the state tournament.

Pawhuska was within six points or less for a majority of the game before uncharacteristic turnovers late led to the double-digit win for Okemah. The Lady Huskies took their first lead of the game at 29-27 at the midway mark of the third quarter. This defensive rebound that turned into a transition bucket for Brooklyn Miles helped keep Pawhuska in it.

The Lady Huskies have Wednesday off before getting back at it on Thursday in Enid when Pawhuska takes on a 19-8 Fairview team. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. and coverage can be heard on 99.1 FM KPGM with audio coverage available on KPGMTV.com.
