Nowata Enters Regional Playoff Against Okemah

Nowata basketball opens up the regional round of the playoffs against Okemah on Saturday at Holly Ward Gymnasium in Ramona.
The Ironmen are coming off of a third win over the Caney Valley Trojans last week in the district round of the playoffs, 49-37, to advance to the winners bracket of regionals.
They take on a tough Okemah team in the regional semifinals who finished off the regular season winning three of their last four games. Their only loss in that stretch came to top-10 ranked 3A Chandler by five. Okemah blasted Haskell in the district round, 71-38.
This is a non-elimination game between Nowata and Okemah, the loser will play on Monday afternoon against the winner of Pawhuska and Quapaw.
The winner becomes two wins away from a state tournament appearance and will play for a regional championship on Tuesday night against the winner of Fairland and Wyandotte.
Tip-off for Nowata from Ramona will be at 7:30 p.m. Coverage of the game can be heard on 104.9 KRIG with an audio only stream on KRIGTV.com.
