WCS Hoops Faces Yale in Regionals

Some high school basketball teams in the area had their playoff schedule pushed back this weekend because of the winter weather. All Class 2A, A and B Regionals will begin on Friday, instead of Thursday.

This means Pawhuska, Barnsdall, Caney Valley Ramona, Wesleyan Christian School, Copan, Oklahoma Union and Nowata will all play exactly 24 hours later than originally scheduled. Game times and locations are staying the same.

For Wesleyan Christian School, the Mustangs boys will face elimination the rest of the way following a 30-point loss to Summitt Christian last week in Districts.

The first Regional game for WCS will not be an easy one. Mustangs will face Yale on Friday afternoon. Wesleyan Christian is 1-0 against Yale but only won by five during a matchup on the road about a month ago.

Head coach Steven Cooks talks about the challenge.

A 2:30 tip on Friday afternoon in Porter.
