Dewey Drops Senior Night Clash With Caney Bullpups

Brian McSweeney
Bulldogger basketball dropped their season finale to Caney Valley (KS) on Monday, 69-39. They will finish the regular season 12-10.
Dewey’s offensive struggles in the first half created too much of a hole for the Bulldoggers to dig out of. They did not make a field goal in the first quarter and only had two points through that eight minute frame. They trailed at halftime, 43-9.
The offense started to shine in the second half as Dewey won the final 16 minutes, 30-26. After getting a slim amount of shots to fall in the first half, the same looks started falling in the second half. Kooper Crawford returned to the lineup for Dewey, and made this nice basket inside to generate offense in the third quarter.
The Dewey girls got the night started with a win over the Lady Bullpups, 46-32, to make the night a split. The Lady Bulldoggers finish the regular season 13-9 and split their season series with Caney Valley (KS).
Playoff basketball is next for Dewey. The Bulldoggers head on the road to Commerce on Friday night. The girls will tip-off at 6 p.m. with the guys to follow at 7:30 p.m.
The boys game can be heard on KRIG 104.9 with an audio only stream on KRIGTV.com.
