Pawhuska got to play at home in search of a district championship on Friday night against Wyandotte. The Lady Huskies claimed that championship with ease while a fourth quarter surge from the boys fell short.

The Lady Huskies were in control from start to finish in a 66-26 win over the Lady Bears. Freshman Brooklyn Miles wasted no time getting adjusted to playoff basketball. She finished with 24 points in only one half of play. This first basket of the game for Miles let Wyandotte know it could be a long night.

Hannah Reynolds and Emily Curry joined Miles in double figures. The Lady Huskies will play the winner of Fairland and Quapaw this Thursday at 6 p.m. in Pawhuska. That is a game you can hear on 99.1 FM KPGM and audio coverage will be available on KPGMTV.com.

The boys trailed by double digits for a majority of the game on Friday night against Wyandotte. The Bears led by as much as 22 points in the third quarter, but Pawhuska stormed back to trim the Bear lead to eight with just under two minutes remaining in the game before ultimatley losing 48-37.

This steal and ensuing bucket on the opposite end was a part of that late run for Pawhuska.

With the loss, Pawhuska will play at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday against the loser of Fairland and Quapaw. That game can also be heard on 99.1 FM KPGM and KPGMTV.com.
