Got in a lot of high school basketball on Tuesday night before the snow in Northeast Oklahoma.
Bartlesville High had its games moved up at Northwest Classen 1.5 hours to get the Bruins home before the weather.
The Lady Bruins dominated from start to finish, while the Bruin guys lost another heartbreaker.
Lady Bruins beat Northwest Classen 65-25. Another 40-point win over the Knights for a season sweep. The victory snaps a two-game losing streak for the Lady Bruins and gets them back to .500 for the District season.
Kennedy Nubel continues her tear. Sami Shaeffer was back in the lineup for the Bruins and found Nubel beneath the basket for a great look in the second half.
The win moves BHS to 11-9 on the season with three to play in the regular season.
Meanwhile on the guy’s side, Bartlesville again came within an eyelash of getting its first District win. The Bruins led multiple times, but fell to Northwest Classen, 55-51.
Bartlesville had free throws to take the lead and a three to tie it in the final minute but could not get the game-winning or tying bucket to go down.
BHS had success shooting the ball when the Bruins got some inside out looks. This three-pointer from Trae Collins gave the Bruins a two-point lead in the fourth quarter.
The Bruins lost to Northwest Classen by 31 during the first matchup at Bruin Field House.
Both clubs next host Broken Arrow on Friday night.
