Both Pawhuska basketball teams came away with victories at Newkirk on Thursday evening. The Lady Huskies made things look easy in a 48-30 win. The boys had to grit out a 50-40 win. 
 

Heading into halftime of the boys game, neither team had led by more than four and Pawhuska held a 21-20 lead. The Huskies opened the second half on a quick 6-0 spurt to lead by seven. Despite the Tigers trimming into that lead and taking a brief lead, Pawhuska re-gained momentum on a big three-pointer from Darian West midway through the fourth quarter. From there, the Huskies were able to cruise to the win. Dax Godsey led the way for Pawhuska in scoring.

The Lady Huskies led from wire to wire in the 18-point win. Pawhuska had kept the Lady Tigers at arms length for the first 12 minutes of game play, but a strong finish to the first half gave Pawhuska a 29-16 halftime edge. Hannah Reynolds and Brooklyn Miles were both in double figures.
