It was a sweep for Oklahoma Wesleyan basketball on Monday night at the Mueller Sports Center, as OKWU got the best of Bethany in two games that were moved because of winter weather.

On the women’s side that is two of three for the Lady Eagles, as they held on to top the Swedes, 60-56.

OKWU got down eight in the opening minutes but rallied back behind some three-pointers from Gracie Alexander. A final three-ball before the halftime break from Tatiana Gilford gave the Eagles the lead.

Lady Eagles are 7-9 overall and 4-6 in KCAC action.

On the men’s side, OKWU snapped a three-game losing skid with a nice offensive performance to beat Bethany, 91-80.

Wesleyan shot 52 percent from the field, 47 percent from three and made eight treys. Issac Stanek had 19 points to lead the way, most of them in the first half when the Eagles built their advantage.

Eagle men are 10-6 overall and 7-3 in KCAC action.

Both clubs go to Ottawa on Wednesday night.
